Venerdì 1 giugno, ore 10-12 aula N8, il Prof. Samir Khoshaba Linnaeus University (Svezia) terrà un seminario dal titolo “DFE Design for Environment“.
Every manufactured product has an impact on the environment, all from material extraction to production to distribution to use, and recovery. The environmental effect of a product can be one or more of energy consumption, natural resource depletion, liquid discharges, gaseous emissions or solid waste generation. There is a process, to design environmental friendly products, divided in a number of steps and has to be used in the early stage of product development work. The process is called Design for Environment or DFE. There are databases containing different types of data and figures to be used to calculate the total environmental impact of each product regardless of material or manufacturing method.
This lecture will deal with the philosophy and theories of DFE and will show how to use the process in product development, at the same time as the process will be highlighted the through a couple of examples.
